Tumbles parent-child classes promote physical and mental development while your little one goes from tummy time to first triumphant steps (and beyond!) Our weekly classes feature a variety of age-appropriate activities that focus on exercising fine and gross motor skills, increasing flexibility, and providing the vestibular stimulation needed for balance and walking.
The best part? You’ll be there to bond with your infant or toddler as they reach developmental milestones and make fun discoveries about the world around them.
At Tumbles Encinitas, our parent-child classes are more than just kicks and giggles. These fun-filled classes are designed to support every aspect of your baby’s development in a safe, supportive and stimulating environment full of color, sound and movement.
This is a combo class for those crazy crawlers who love to climb over mats and explore tunnels and mazes. The focus is on movement as children develop their gross motor skills through standing, pushing and assisted walking.
They may wobble as they walk but Wobblers have an unparalleled determination that makes everything a discovery. This Tumbles class for children ages 11 to 18 months encourages curiosity as your child learns how to push toys, kick a ball, walk on the balance beam, start basic tumbling techniques, sing songs and interact with others in a socially distant setting. In the development of these skills, children get to explore the gym all while sharpening their vocabulary skills and gaining more muscle control.
This combo class is for our walkers who are ready to tackle different obstacle courses working on coordination and balance. Their little muscles are challenged as we begin working on upper body strength through swinging on rings and trapezes.
Children ages 19 months to 2.5 years love to wiggle. And there's no stopping them in this Wigglers class! They'll learn how to walk up soft steps, climb a ladder, kick a soccer ball, jump on a trampoline and begin basic climbing techniques for the rock wall. In the development of these skills, Wigglers get to participate in an obstacle course, gain confidence in their own abilities and learn how to interact with other children and trainers.
This combo class challenges all kids in the 1 1/2 - 3 year old age range, but does not impose all the structure of the Super Wigglers class. The skill level is brought up higher than the Wigglers class as kids learn to strengthen their bodies by swinging on rings and trapezes. They'll also navigate through tunnels, over walls and obstacle courses.
There's no such thing as terrible twos in this fun class! Children ages 2.5 to 3 learn skills that teach them how to climb a rope ladder, skillfully fly on the trapeze, and tumble. In the development of these skills, children also enhance their vocabulary, gain confidence in their jumping and running abilities, learn how to become more independent and perform in front of their peers. This is the perfect class to get ready for our independent program starting at 3 years old.
